People often think that the library is just for borrowing books but Darlington Library does much more than this! |

What is provided at the library?
• The library has music CD's which cost 85p each for a week and members of the library can borrow up to 6 a week.
• It also has DVD’s which cost £1.50 a week to borrow.

E-Library
This is where you can use the computers in the library for half an hour free when you have registered. Then if you want to use the computer longer, it will cost you £1 per half hour after that. |

The Local Studies Room
This is where you can find out about your family history and the history of Darlington. You don't have to be a member to use this department. |

The Library
This is where the staff can help you to find the information you need. You don't have to be a member to use this either. |

The Library offers courses - Computing and Internet and other subjects. The staff can tell you how much it would cost. |

Books can also be borrowed.
• Members of the library can borrow up to 10 books for three weeks.
• If you want to keep the books longer, you can renew your books by bringing them back and getting them stamped again or ring up and staff will renew your books on the telephone.

• If you are late bringing books back you will be fined a small amount of money so make sure you get them back in time.
• You can order books as well. It costs 80p to order a book.

• There are books called "Quick Reads" which are easy to read and short stories are also available in the library.
• There are books you can borrow on tape and CD if you want to listen to a book instead of reading it.

• There is also housebound and residential home library service. Staff can tell you about this if you ask. |

How do I become a member?
You will need to fill in a Membership Form and show some identification of where you live. It can be something with your name and address on it, like a bill or a letter from an organisation or a statement from the bank.
