Darlington Carers Support

You can also find information and support about caring from Darlington Carers Support, which is open from Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm. They are located at:

Unit 1F, Enterprise House
Valley Street North
Darlington
DL1 1GY

Telephone: 0300 0301215

Appointments can also be arranged outside normal working hours to fit with the needs of working carers. For further information please visit the Darlington Carers Support website [external link]

Darlington Carers Support provides support to all adult carers, including parent carers of disabled children under the age of 18. They also hold Darlington’s Carers Register, which allows you to identify yourself as a carer. You can then receive a regular newsletter giving information about services and support. The register also gives a more accurate picture of carers in Darlington, which can be used by Health, Adult Social Care, Children's Services and other organisations to plan support for carers in Darlington.

You can have a look at the Carers Support Service newsletter

Support for Carers of People with Autism

Information and support available for carers of people with autism can be found on the Autism webpages

Life Stages Carers Network

The Network meets immediately before the Darlington Learning Impairment Network meetings to look at issues that are important to carers.  Carers are then able to stay on for the Learning Impairment Network Meeting, if they would like to do so. Please come along and share your views. We would very much like to see more carers at these meeting, so if you would like more information or would like to attend, please contact Lisa Holdsworth (Carers Lead) on (01325) 405861. Meeting dates can be found in the Diary Dates section.
